“Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace"
-St. Francis of Assisi

Sending loving thoughts; keeping a Gratitude Journal; reciting the rosary; mindful meditation; lovingly sewing a new button on a shirt.  All of these are a form of prayer.

And each one of them is far more powerful than we can ever imagine.

Like raindrops to a thirsty flower, prayer fills us with loving energy and rejuvenates our Spirit.  And like a raindrop falling on a still pond, its healing effects ripple outward infinitely.

At times when we feel we have nothing to offer someone in the way of comfort, we often ask “What can I do to help?”  The answer sounds so simple, and yet it is probably the most sought after thing in the Universe.  The answer is “Prayer”.

Prayer comes from one of the most powerful energy centers in the Universe, the heart.  When a thought or gesture is done from the heart, it sends forward an immensely powerful intention that is surrounded with love.  One single person sending a prayer to the Creator on behalf of themselves or others creates a shift of such magnitude; we cannot begin to conceive of it.  And even when our prayers are not answered in exactly the same manner we had intended, we can be assured that it will indeed be answered in a way that will serve our greatest and highest good.

Recently, medical studies have done been which have tested the recovery period for patients who have been prayed for, versus those who have not.  The overwhelming results have been speedier recovery times, and in some cases recoveries that are nothing short of a miracle.

The healing energy of a prayer, is first received in our heart center.  Its loving intention fills us with love and Light.  From there it radiates outward to our entire aura, balancing our energy centers and lifting us up spiritually and physically.  We radiate in the Spirit, when we are full of love.  And when we radiate love, we attract love in return.

Many times when I am doing a reading for someone, I receive a message from a loved one on the other side, that the prayers that have been sent to them have been heard and received, but more than that, the prayers have been “felt”.   On more than one occasion it has been described to me as a “warm, blue energy” that feels like an embrace.  Just as prayer has an uplifting effect on those of us on the physical plane, so too does it have an uplifting effect on those in Spirit.

Whether it’s one solitary voice or the voices of a multitude, prayer is a means by which change can be effected locally and globally.  So, while you are at home visualizing the entire world basking in a healing pink embrace, rest assured that your healing prayer is
indeed being felt in places you’ve never dreamed of going and by people you may never meet… in this lifetime anyway.

In the Light of Prayer,

Denise
